Shows a semithin section of the gill arch of the Ruby-Red-Fin Shark, also known as the Rainbow Shark (Epalzeorhynchos frenatum), which belongs to the Teleostei: Cyprinidae family. The gill arch epithelia consists of various cellular kinds. Goblet cells exhibit a high concentration of metachromatic mucus production. The pavement cells exhibited apical striations, which corresponded to microvilli. Telocyte-like cells, indicated by the arrow, comprise the boundary of the lymph space (L).
